Yesterday was my third Manhattan 1/2 Marathon. It was a close to perfect day for a race. The best part of this race was the proximity of the start line to my bed (approximately 10 blocks). I left home at 7:30 to make sure that I got to my corral on time. As I walked to the park the early morning streets of Manhattan were taken over by the quiet bustling of runners. The corral system is based on … [Read more...] about Manhattan 1/2 Race Recap

Vegan Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Muffins
For as long as I can remember I've had a craving to bake healthy delicious treats. I remember my sister asking me when we were younger "if I could just bake something normal." Well, I guess I could, but that wouldn't be any fun! Last night I did a little baking before I went to bed. As you know I was planning on writing about sneaking in exercise, but it seems my camera died during the night. The … [Read more...] about Vegan Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Muffins

When I'm running long distances, I count to 100 5x for 5x. … [Read more...] about Running without a Mantra
Fitness Mind, Body, Spirit Games Race Recap
This may have been the perfect race! The women's race didn't start until 10 a.m. I love that I didn't have to set an alarm clock to get up for the this race. My game plan for today was to pick up my packet at 9:00, check … [Read more...] about Fitness Mind, Body, Spirit Games Race Recap
Vegan Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Eat, Drink and Be Vegan may be my all time favorite cookbook. I've made at least 14 super yummy recipes from this book. I've also enjoyed changing the recipes around a little. This morning I baked vegan banana-chocolate chip bread. They were inspired by the zucchini spelt muffin recipe from the book. A co-worker is moving to sunny San Diego, so I thought this would be the perfect healthy … [Read more...] about Vegan Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
