Progress Report

I've officially graduated from running on the Alter G! Last Wednesday I was able to run at 85% of my body weight for the last eight minutes of my 30 minute run. Naturally, after work I went on a test run in Central Park. I ran/walked around the Great Lawn (800 meters) with great success. That doesn't mean I'm ready to go full force though. I still feel a bit of soreness in my ankle. I'm … [Read more...] about Progress Report

HIIT Workout, Nike Free Bionic & An Announcement

Have you guys heard about Nike's newest training shoe, the Nike Free Bionic? This shoe isn't made for running, but it is made for HIIT workouts and for strength training. I'm hoping this ankle heals in the next few … [Read more...] about HIIT Workout, Nike Free Bionic & An Announcement

10 Years with NYRR & How Running Has Changed for Me Since Then

Recently, I noticed I've been a member of the New York Road Runners for ten years! Kinda crazy how time flies. Not even to catch a bus. #2) When I'm injured I seek help. … [Read more...] about 10 Years with NYRR & How Running Has Changed for Me Since Then

Cooking at home in the summer can be challenging. My kitchen gets so hot I feel like I just got back from a three mile run by the time the meal is complete. Last summer, I either ordered takeout or ate smoothies for most meals. This year I'm determined to make healthful meals at home that don't cause the temps in my apartment to reach above 80 degrees.   * Side note: I dream of one day … [Read more...] about Recipes That Won’t Leave You Sweating in the Kitchen

ISO: New Goals

I've been feeling a bit lost the past month. I'm wildly goal oriented when it comes to running. If Mike tells me to foam roll ten times a day to heal an injury, I foam roll ten times a day. If there's a strength exercise I need to do to prevent an injury I'll do it every single day when I'm chasing down a goal. I'm not afraid of a little hard work. However, without a specific goal to work … [Read more...] about ISO: New Goals
