The Color Run in NYC is sold out for both dates, but I have two tickets to giveaway for the July 6th race!
Featured on the June cover of Runner’s World, means this race must be great.
From The Color Run website:
“The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid colorcombinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!
With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:
1. Wear white at the starting line
2. Finish plastered in color”
KIND is an official sponsor of the race and wants to share health and happiness with one lucky reader who will receive two tickets to attend the July 6th event.
Enter to Win:

Most fun ever is running by myself and listening to my playlist! I am just getting into running so this 5K would be amazing for me! Did I mention this would be my first 5K?!?

My most fun race was my first half – I wish I could recapture the feeling and my pace!

My most fun run was my first half; it was full of hills, but I conquered them and truly had a smile on my face at every downhill. Training for it had not been that pleasurable; but the “race high” is a whole different ball game.

My most fun race was my first half marathon at More Magazine/Fitness Magazine. It was the longest distance I ever ran and I was happy to be in Central Park where I had spent the past few weeks making twig mobiles with my class and developing sink/float projects with my fellow teacher grad students. I was nervous at first but wore my best friend necklace from a friend who passed in the corner of my sports bra. I also breathed. a lot. and talked to my muscles about their strength and how they would rest afterwards. It was amazing to be outside and see so many different women come together! I had celebrated my mom’s birthday weekend, so I remember thinking women truly make a difference with their beauty, courage, and love!

My best/most fun experience running was reconnecting with my mom through running in my senior year of high school. She knew that I loved running so as a way to connect she signed up as running coach captain for her office and enlisted me to motivate her and join her in weekly runs… We ran every Saturday together followed by lattes. We crossed the finish line of a 10k race four months later and now, five years later, still love running together. Xox

I registered for my first run in October for the diva run but love an opportunity to enter. My best run was racing against bits in my childhood and being the winner . Being a tomboy is great

My first half marathon this April in DC for the Nike Women’s half. I’ve been thinking of doing a half for years and finally committed to it this year. It was an amazing adrenaline rush… Now I know what they mean by runners high! I learned that my body is capable of more than I give it credit for and with training and dedication, I can do anything!

My most fun race ever was a very unlikely place for “fun” – it was mile 23 of my first marathon. The race was going so very badly – I was on track to finish more than 30 minutes slower than my goal. I was discouraged, and I was walking. And then I heard a voice behind me call my name – it was a dear friend, coming up behind me. We spent the next 3.2 miles together, encouraging each other, even making each other laugh. She shared her clif shot bloks and I shared my Gatorade. And then we crossed the finish line together. I’m honestly not sure i would’ve made it without her.

The best running experience I have ever had was the University of Florida Dance Marathon 5K. I have participated in many races, but this was truly one that was the most rewarding. Dance Marathon is a huge fundraiser that takes place each spring at the University of Florida (where I am going to be a senior) that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network and Shands Hospital (the local hospital in Gainesville, Florida). Each participant paid $10 to run in the race, and all money went toward the fundraising total of the event. There were merchandise that participants could purchase at the event and all sponsors contributed as well. As runners went through the 5K, staff members cheered participants on to remind them to never give up and to remind them who they were running for: those children who are currently in the hospital who may never be able to run a 5K. When I crossed that finish line, it was one of the most rewarding feelings of my life, second to seeing the million dollars Dance Marathon at the University of Florida ended raising this past April.

The best race experience for me was going back to my hometown and running my sister’s first race with her. It was also my first race ever (a long time ago), so it’s great to share that with my sister. Even though she was running quite a bit, she wasn’t sure she wanted to race. However, the race fell on my birthday, so she really couldn’t say no haha Fortunately, she really enjoyed it and we had a great day.

My most fun running experience was when I joined a race together with my best friend and we finished at the same time. It was really memorable! I also met my husband after that race. 🙂
