way to go for volunteering – I always remember that mile 18 is where things got really tough so those runners need all the help they can get at that point!

Julie! Your daughter Madeline is an absolute DOLL – I so enjoyed her sweet-natured energy, and watching the exhausted runners perk up at the sight of her.

Are you seriously apologizing for not socializing while running a marathon??? =) Baker, you’re too kind.

Yes, it was fun seeing everyone. However, I was too busy handing out water to see most of the runners I know.

Awesome Jess! I almost came down to say hello (I was waiting at 114th) but I was so paranoid I was going to miss my friend. I met her at 19 and took her all the way. Boy is 7 miles easier than 26 HA!

Thank YOU, Jess! It was such an inspiring, emotional day. My brother got some great photos, including a couple cute ones of us in our ponchos and rain boots: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=14612&id=100001575832477&l=c713752fea
