Is it strange to be itching for a spring marathon, while simultaneously not wanting to run?
Regardless, I’m taking a little break from committing to weekly workouts. For this week I’m going to do whatever workouts I feel like doing (though admittedly, I’ll do my physical therapy assigned exercises no matter if I feel like doing them or not).
Since I’ll have some extra time on my hands without marathon training, my SIDI it goal for the week is to get back on track with blogging. I have a ton of fun things to share with you guys including a pretty great gift guide.
Additionally, I’m sending out my first ever Race Pace Wellness Newsletter this week (eek!) so if you haven’t signed up yet, and want the inside scoop you can sign-up here.
How long of a break do you give yourself after a big goal race?
How do you choose your next goal race?

It seems like there will be a bit of a break for me after the Philly marathon. But hopefully I am doing a spring half! As far as choosing a goal race, I will probably do it based on how interested I am in going to a particular city.

That first sentence pretty much sums up my current state of mind. Nailed it.

You definitely deserve a week of unstructured workouts, Jess. It’s always nice to take a step back, down-shift a notch, and workout based on how your body feels.

A break from structured workouts is what I crave, especially after a marathon. Although, I always get the itch to sign up for another race soon after finishing one! I’m doing the San Francisco marathon this coming June, so that should be interesting (and challenging with all the hills!)

Love the new site! Yes I think there is a gift in terms of giving yourself space to do what feels fun, inspired to do. Your body and mind has enough memory to go back to the things that makes you feel good.
I am too in the process of doing less yet creating new routines. For me it means taking a couple of classes this week while incorporating a new morning routine.

Thank you!
Enjoy the new morning routine.
