Running Essentials is returning for summer 2012! Last summer every Thursday was dedicated to Running Essentials (most of them are listed here), while I’m not sure it will be a weekly post this summer you can expect to see tons of information here all during the training season.
We’re kicking off Running Essentials with a video series with Mike Conlon, owner of Finish Line Physical Therapy. Unfortunately, PT has played a big role in my life in the past several year, so naturally I thought this information could benefit all of us runners (and athletes) to help prevent injury.
The video is a little long, so grab a coconut water and settle in to learn what Mike says may be the most important stretch a runner can do.
Check back next week for the second video in this series where we’ll cover a muscle I rarely stretch, but should.
~p.s. the next post will be my 1000th post & we’re celebrating with an amazing giveaway you won’t want to miss!

Loved the video! I just tried them out at work (I’m pretty sure my coworkers think I’m crazy!) and loved the side to side ones.
I’ll be adding these into my rotation!

Love it!

This is one of my favorite stretches to do. I must admit – I used to be so much better at taking the time to stretch pre/post run…these days I usually go straight from my run to making my son breakfast so I don’t stretch much (if any at all). Thank you for the reminder. The video is awesome! =)

Michele, I’m guessing the rotation would be a little uncomfortable for you at this point! =)

I am going to try those, thanks!
