Ignited

It’s been so long since I’ve written a blog post I forgot my wordpress password! I took a much needed break from writing posts over the holiday season but it’s good to be back at it. I hope your holidays were full of great time with friends and family.

One of my goals for 2013 is to spend less time on the internet. I’m guilty of wasting too much time on twitter, facebook and instagram. I vow to spend more time doing more productive things in 2013. Which sounds easy enough, but will definitely be a challenge for this social media addict!

New Year's Eve Run

Yesterday, I wrapped up another year of running with an 8-mile run in Central Park with Ashley. Running without a plan or a garmin in the magical quietness that is winter in Central Park has ignited my love for running. I don’t remember the last time I was in a groove quite like this one.

My goal for the spring of 2013 is to take this feeling and translate it into marathon training. I’m not sure exactly how that’s going to work, but I’m determined to find out.

Central Park

What ignites you? Garmin stats? Endorphin highs? Setting a new shiny pr?

Doing something new or re-discovering something I love ignites me to do other things. I went snowboarding yesterday and it has energized me in so many ways. It’s something I’ve enjoyed for years, but somehow yesterday was extra energizing 🙂

Beautiful picture of Central Park by the way.

Great question!! What ignites me is the feeling of strength and sweat and focus on myself. It’s my “me-time”. 🙂 Happy New Year!

Closing out the year with a great run sounds perfect! Experiencing endorphin highs and signing up for a race both ignite me; I’m excited to see what 2013 brings–Happy New Year! 🙂

Nice to see you back 🙂 Oh how I love that picture of Central Park, and I’m on the same path this year–less measuring/numbers/counting and more just doing and loving. If that makes sense 🙂 Happy New Year!

A thought: Let’s both sign offline and run together. That’ll ignite me!

And I don’t mean right this minute. I mean in life, in general. I want to try and keep up with you this year!

I actually took twitter and facebook off my phone today so I can only look at it when at home! I’m hoping this will decrease social media time. Only thing I kept on my phone was instagram.

Hope to be running together in 2013!

I love that word: ignited. Such a passionate word, and I love that you relate it to how you feel about running again. THE BEST.

What ignites me right now? Better balance and a simpler approach to my every day. If that makes sense.
