Sweet & Zesty Green Juice Recipe

Ever since doing the BluePrintCleanse this past winter, I’ve been dabbling in juice drinking.

While buying a juice while out is rather easy in NYC, it’s certainly not wallet friendly. In fact just last week I picked up the red BluePrintCleanse juice at Whole Foods for a mere $8.99. I wish I wasn’t foolish enough to spend that much money on a juice, but clearly my craving got the best of me.

After weeks of hunting out the nearest Bodega with a juice bar and justifying the hefty price tag, I knew I had to invest in a juicer. Luckily for me, Dori had a great juicer she was looking to sell. So, I didn’t have to invest that much money into a habit that may be short lived. Excited (and nervous I was going to blow a fuse in our apartment), I made my first concoction a sweet & zesty green juice and it was delicious!

Sweet & Zesty Green Juice

  • Two Kale Stalks
  • 3-4 small carrots (probably the equivalent of a large carrot)
  • One Lemon
  • One Apple (I prefer green ones)
  • An inch of ginger

I’m totally a newbie when it comes to this, so I’d love to hear about your favorite juice concoctions. I also hope that I can learn to like celery, cucumbers and romaine but so far they are off my list.

So glad it worked out! Your juice sounds delicious. I think you should try cucumber because it is really good in juice, and it creates a lot of juice so it’s good for the wallet.

Hey Jess! I’m new this year to juicing too – I was always someone who stayed away from juicing before because of how it supposedly spikes your blood sugar. But I feel like that’s more w/ the fruit juices (and you picked a granny smith apple – great choice for blood sugar since it’s lower than sweet ones!) I was hesitant to buy a juicer because I figured I might use it a few times and then it gets stored away, never to be used again. Fortunately a few months later, I can tell you that I still use it a few times a week!

One of my favorite things to put in my juice is PARSLEY! Sounds weird, I know, but it’s great. I roll it up inside of a kale leaf. My juice this morning had one green apple, 1/3 small lemon with rind, handful of parsley, a few kale leaves, 1 stalk of celery, and 1/2 a cucumber.

I also like to do a little lime occasionally, w/ some green apple – makes it like limeade because the apple juice sweetens the citrus.

A friend told me to do daikon radish (which i love to eat) but after I tried juicing it I must have used to much because it was UNDRINKABLE. I had to throw the whole glass away, and wasted all those other veggies.

I also love to use just a little fresh ginger – it packs a crazy punch so start REALLY small!!!

    Have fun juicing! 🙂

I also am guilty of purchasing the $8.99 BP cleanse juices and recently found juice at Terri NYC for $6.50… But I have also decided time to experiment and get a juicer, which one are you using? I am not looking to spend a ton in case its a short lived adventure but then again I have been hooked for a few months.

Every time I ask for good juice recipes, they always include apples! I can’t eat them 🙁 I need a good replacement. I love my juicer, but I know I’m not using it to its best ability.
Congrats on the great deal, btw! And, we all pay too much on food/drinks sometimes…I’m guilty too, and I’m CHEAP!

Can you eat pears? You could replace the apple with a pear.

Try using beets – same sweetness as apples.

Hmm… I think with cooler cleanse you can customize your juice selection.

Need to find effective online promotion that isn’t full of crap? I apologize for sending you this message on your contact form but actually that was the whole point. We can send your ad copy to websites through their contact pages just like you’re getting this ad right now. You can specify targets by keyword or just start bulk blasts to websites in any country you choose. So let’s say you want to send a message to all the real estate agents in the United States, we’ll scrape websites for just those and post your promo to them. As long as you’re promoting a product or service that’s relevant to that type of business then you’ll get an awesome result!
