Soundtrack of My Workout: The Spark of the Resolutioners

I get it. Just the sound of the word “resolution” can be annoying this time of year especially when it comes to hearing that word at the gym or your favorite boutique fitness studio.

Resolutioners make snagging a bike in my favorite Soul Cycle class even more challenging than normal, and forget about finding a tiny corner at the gym to do a plank in. Every spot at every gym seems to be taken up by someone and their resolutions.

Many of us year-round exercisers/athletes/fitness enthusiasts/exercise endorphin addicts (whatever it is we call ourselves) easily get annoyed by these people taking up our space in the our house of sweat. I too have felt that way in the past.

Waiting for the resolution-ers to come to class last night.

Maybe it’s easier for me to say what I’m about to say because I don’t actually workout in a gym on a regular basis and because Central Park is rather empty in the winter regardless of resolution season but… I like the “January Joiners” and all of their resolutions.

They add a fresh buzz of excitement to the gym that gets lost at other times of the year.

I’m going to go ahead and say it, I love the resolutioners every single one of them!
