{If you’re new to SIDI here’s some info: At the beginning of each week on FCITC“Say it, Do it” is a chance for us to commit to our workouts for the week by saying them out loud here and keeping each other accountable.}
I don’t want today to end. The weather is perfect and I just want to sit in Central Park all day people watching.
I ran the longest I’ve ran since training for the Chicago Marathon in 2004. Since I’ve really been struggling with my long runs, I started visualizing myself running with a peaceful mind earlier in the week. It must have worked because today, my thoughts did not impede my run!
Additionally, I came to the realization that I’ve been trying too hard to maintain a certain pace during long runs and I need to just focus on building endurance. After all that’s what I’m suppose to be doing during long runs, not trying to constantly push the pace.
I feel like I’m back in the marathon training game focused on making the best of the next eleven weeks.
Workout Commitments for the Week:
- 3 runs (1 speed, 1 tempo, 1 long run)
- 1 spin class
- 3 core workouts
- 1 day of yoga
- 1 off day
How would you feel if a stranger high-fived you on your run? I LOVE a high-five!
What workouts are you committed to this week?

I was running a few weeks ago and a little boy held out his hand for a high five! I was half-way through the run and was already running out of steam, and he totally revitalized me. Loved it 🙂

I go back to work full-time tomorrow . . . so I don’t want today to end either!!!
I’m going to commit to working out at the gym each morning BEFORE work. Unfortunately, that means getting up ultra early, but I have to get back into the swing of things right away.

I continue to do my workouts each week with weights & cardio & core & stretching. I plan out each day the day before but if the bod wants something different once I get started – I go with it! 🙂

I love stranger high fives – if I get one it`s mostly from kids. I also really enjoy a thumbs up though, that`s really motivating as well.
