Runner’s High (Five) Friday

The first week of September is about to wrap up and the weather is insane in NYC. In fact the weather is so good I suggest you logoff, tell your boss you’re leaving work early and go for a run. (do it!)

high-five

Here are five people I’d like to high five this week:

The first high five for this week goes to Jocelyn. This enthusiastic runner is leaving NYC and packing up to start a new exciting job on the other side of the country, but first she’s heading to PA to run the LeHigh Valley Marathon in an attempt to BQ. So, let’s send her some good vibes and cheer her on during her race via twitter. Click here to send her a tweet.

Second and third on the list are Elizabeth and Juan. These two are runners and lovers. Their quick love affair is the perfect love story and just this week they sealed the deal at City Hall. Read this real life love story here.

I don’t feel this high five needs any explanation, but the Boston Athletic Association has managed to not only bounce back quickly, but bounce back in an overwhelming way. Registration for the 2014 Boston Marathon opens next week and will include a field of 36,000 runners compared with 27,000 in 2013.

And last, but not least the final high-five for today goes to my friend Melissa. Thanks to her, I had the best run I’ve had since June 2. This runner’s high is going to last me the entire weekend. Follow her on twitter for great nutrition tips!

Who would you like to high five today?
