Physique 57 Workout with Chobani + Olympian Lashinda Demus

On Saturday I headed downtown to Physique 57 for a workout with Chobani and Olympic Silver Medalist in the 400 meter hurdles, Lashinda Demus. The highlight of the afternoon was hearing Lashinda’s story. Olympians never cease to inspire me with their superhuman athletic feats.

The workout taught by Alex, was amazing as always. I have to admit it was interesting to see Lashinda struggle through many of the same exercises I did. It might just prove she’s human after all!

After the workout, Lashinda shared her life story with us. She truly believes that her athletic abilities are a gift given to her by God and that she was put on this earth to be the amazing athlete she is today. After hearing about her disappointment in not winning a gold medal and her goals for the Rio Olympic Games we headed to Chobani Soho.

If you’re a Chobani fan this is the place to visit in NYC. The unique combinations of yogurts served will have you rethinking how you eat your Greek Yogurt.

Items on the menu include:

  • Fig+Walnut
  • Pistachio+Chocolate
  • Cucumber+Olive Oil
  • Toasted Coconut+Pineapple

Turns out Lashinda brought her Silver Medal with her to Chobani Soho so we could see it in person. This little girl was as an awe of her accomplishments as I was.

Chobani was a sponsor of the 2012 London Games and Lashinda is a Team Chobani Athlete. It was certainly a memorable Saturday afternoon!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. At the event I received a complimentary workout and a gift bag. All views and opinions expressed her are my own.

Thanks for sharing, Jess! I saw a ton of pictures and related tweets on Twitter about this workout–looks like fun! I haven’t been to Chobani SoHo yet, but it’s on my list. 🙂

You do the coolest events! I would really have liked to heard her speak. Agree that Olympic athletes have the most amazing stories bc of their insane dedication and triumph.
