Last Saturday, the day before the More/Fitness Marathon I acquired a large blister on my heel while running around the neighborhood looking for Honey Stinger Chews.
At first I was stressed out about it, but then magically forgot until I was getting ready for the race on Sunday. I quickly googled “running with a blister” and stumbled upon a forum suggesting duct tape.
And it worked!
Here’s what I did:
#1) Tore off a strip of duct tape that was about an inch longer than the band-aid, then tore that piece in half.
#2) Cut the edges of the duct tape so that the edges were round (as suggested on the forum).
#3) Covered the blister with the band-aid.
#4) Covered the band-aid with the duct tape.
While I acquired a new blister during the race this one didn’t bother me at all! Both the duck tape and band-aid stayed in place. It didn’t snag on my sock or shoe and came off easily after the race.
What blister remedies have you tried?

Love that idea! Blisters are the worst things ever. Such a little area of the body but it can be such a huge problem! Ugh. I love this home-made option though and will keep it in mind for the future.

That’s awesome. You know I have colored duct tape in bright pink- it would totally match your site colors.
Awesome post! Congrats on the beginning of a fun running season

TMI, but I used to have a plantar wart (long time ago…), and NOTHING worked to make it go away. Freezing it, acid, trying to cut it out, nothing worked. Someone told me to cover it with duct tape and change it daily/whenever it fell off/got wet, and it worked! Go duct tape.

Love the step-by-step guide! Thanks for the info. I have used duct tape for soo many things. You should always have it in your house!
