I can’t believe it’s been ten years since I ran the New York City Marathon! Training was touch and go for a few months, but now I’m finally feeling like I’ll be able to conquer the distance and enjoy every mile.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m running this race as a Girls on the Run Solemate. My goal for this race is to raise enough money to provide an entire team of girls with full scholarships for an entire season, but I can’t do this alone. I need your help to get there!
Here’s how you can help:
- Make a donation here.
- Tweet this: “Help @RacePaceJess reach her @ingnycmarathon goal by donating to @GOTRNYC http://bit.ly/14ReYZj “ Each time someone tweets this between now and Sunday, November 3, I’ll donate $1 to GOTRNYC (up to $200).
Why am I fundraising for GOTR? (just in case you don’t know already)
Because running changed my life in middle school and I want to help give young girls the opportunity to experience the same life changing things I experienced. As a former Girls on the Run Coach, I learned that this program teaches girls more than just to be passionate about running. It teaches girls how to care for themselves, their communities and develop important life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Thank you for helping me reach my goal! I can’t wait to run this race again!
xx

I love GOTR and the work that the organization is doing. So great that you are running with them. And how funny – I ran the NYCM 10 years ago too! First and only time 🙂 Good luck on Sunday!!
