Run in the heat. Run up the biggest hill. Run with a faster friend. Run in the rain. Run when you don't want to. Run when the going gets tough. Run faster even when you feel like you can't. Run without attachment to the outcome. Run without limits. Do the hard thing now so that come race day, you'll have conquered every challenge in your path and nothing can stop … [Read more...] about My Summer Training Credo

2015 NYRR Retro 4 Miler Recap: My Fastest Race Since 2010!!!
This past Sunday, Rick and I ran the NYRR Retro 4-miler. I'm really loving racing all these shorter races, though I have to admit that running as hard as I did during the race wasn't fun at all in the moment. It hurt. When we woke up Sunday morning neither of us were feeling well so we got a little off schedule. I had half a cup of coffee and a picky bar before the race and we jogged 1.72 miles … [Read more...] about 2015 NYRR Retro 4 Miler Recap: My Fastest Race Since 2010!!!
2015 UAE Healthy Kidney 10k Race Recap
It's no secret that the 10k is my least favorite race distance. It's just a sufferfest. The distance is too long to be short and too short to be long. It is not my sweet spot. My mileage peaked at 26 miles the week before the race. I took a mini taper for race week with the hopes I wouldn't totally blow up on Saturday. I honestly had no idea what to … [Read more...] about 2015 Brooklyn Half Marathon Race Recap: I’ve Got a Long Way to Go
Run As One Race Recap: Racing My Way Into Shape
I finally have my race plans for 2015 in place. I'm registered for a ton of NYRR races and am excited to race all the races. ;) Since I haven't raced any NYRR races in a few years my corral seeding has officially been downgraded. Seeding is based on your best race time for a NYRR race. It's such a fast field of runners. When the corral system was first implemented my pace on file was 7:17. Last … [Read more...] about Run As One Race Recap: Racing My Way Into Shape
Boston Marathon: 3 Things I Wish I Had Done Differently + A Round-up of the Best Tips for Conquering the Course
No doubt you already know that Marathon Monday is one week from today! While, my own running of the Boston Marathon has felt blurry ever since returning home from the race last April, the memories have been flooding back in as runners, spectators and dreamers gear up for the 2015 race. Looking back there are three things I wish I had done differently. #1. Not purchased official gear at the … [Read more...] about Boston Marathon: 3 Things I Wish I Had Done Differently + A Round-up of the Best Tips for Conquering the Course
