Say it, Do it! {off schedule & that’s okay!}

{If you’re new to SIDI here’s some info: At the beginning of each week on FCITC “Say it, Do it” is a chance for us to commit to our workouts for the week by saying them out loud here and keeping each other accountable.}   When my husband saw this photo on Facebook he called me over to say "this is you." And he was right. It is completely definitive of who I am though it may not appear … [Read more...] about Say it, Do it! {off schedule & that’s okay!}

Surprised!

True story: I first learned about Lululemon from a male client. He was a Brit who happened to marry a Canadian. He moved to Canada and lived near the very first Lululemon before moving to NYC. Every single thing he wore to the gym was Lulu. I remember going into the Lincoln Center store on the Upper West Side when it opened. I wasn't looking for love, per say but they say those kind of things … [Read more...] about Surprised!

The Other 1/2 of the Training Puzzle: Fuel

The One I Trained My Heart Out For

More than 24 hours past my 18-miler and I'm still gloating. I really didn't know if I had it in me. People assume that because I'm a runner and I've been running for the majority of my life that I've ran a ton a of marathons. Well, the truth is I've ran three; one I didn't train for, one … [Read more...] about The One I Trained My Heart Out For

Say it, Do it! {Confidence Builder}

{If you’re new to SIDI here’s some info: At the beginning of each week on FCITC “Say it, Do it” is a chance for us to commit to our workouts for the week by saying them out loud here and keeping each other accountable.} Today's run was the confidence boost I needed. I completed my longest long run since I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2004. At this point in training with ten weeks left to go it … [Read more...] about Say it, Do it! {Confidence Builder}

Marathon Brain

The marathon is slowly taking control over my thoughts. This week I've found that I think about it more and more as the day gets closer. Yesterday when the New York Road Runner's announced there would not be any baggage check for participants unlike many runners I didn't get upset like hundreds of other runners. Instead I had a mini freakout, picturing myself in the death march that is the finish … [Read more...] about Marathon Brain
