#HolidayCheer

Let’s just get right to it, shall we?

Giving gifts is fun! Today, I get to give one of you a gift from my “Gift Ideas for the Runner Who Seemingly Has it All“, the Utopia Thermal Pant from Brooks.

Utopia Thermal Cozy Pant

“Get warm without the weight in this comfy knit pant, for cold weather workouts or après run lounging. Shaped seams and piping at the yoke add nice, feminine lines and an asymmetric cut at the bottom prevents bunching.”

These pants are amazing! Personally, I prefer snuggling up in them with a cup of hot tea after a run in the cold, but they could also be a nice alternative for the winter runner who doesn’t like running in thermal tights. The fit is similar to that of any other workout pant I own, so they aren’t too baggy for running.

Enter to win: Leave a comment on this page telling me what you love most about winter running.

For a bonus entry tweet the following: “Stay Cozy this winter by entering to win a pair of @brooksrunning Utopia Thermal Pants from @fitchicknyc http://bit.ly/SWu6Rg #runhappy”

Giveaway ends: Sunday, December 16th. Must be a U.S. resident to win.

**This giveaway has ended. The winner is Shay!

I love the cool, crisp air in the winter and how I usually don’t regret bringing that extra layer for warmth. Plus, I hate being uncomfortably warm while running, so being able to get outside and not immediately overheat, feels great!

I love the view running outside during the winter! I live in a busy town but the town next to us is a beautiful open-spaced town, with lots of farmland. Nothing puts me in a better mood than a morning winter run along side frosted fields, farms, and crisp morning air.

  45. Michelle says

I love running in the cold weather. We live in a small city in Germany, so the colder it gets the less people are out on the streets, the more free I feel to run at any time of day (opposed to summertime when I woke up before the crack of dawn to get a decent run in).

I frankly struggle through my winter runs…but with the right gear and some good company, the rozy-cheeked look and breath in the air can be invigorating. And a bowl of hot soup after somehowsomehow manages to erase the memory of the chill!

  61. Nicola says

    December 14, 2012 at 11:41 pm

I like running in my lunch break and it can be really tough going in the summer heat. It’ s so much less effort to get the mileage in during the winter and speed work and races are much more appealing options than they are in summer.

  62. Laura says

    December 14, 2012 at 11:46 pm

Winter running is great because I get to wear a hat, which I love because my ear plugs for my iPod don’t fall out 🙂

    December 15, 2012 at 2:56 pm

I love that I don’t feel as sweaty after a winter run. 😉 I also like to have my phone on me for safety, so I love that in winter I usually have an outer layer with a pocket to put it in. No belts & no worries of sweat damage to phones like in hotter weather (I have a friend whose iphone died after she wore it in the pocket of capris during a half in 90 degree weather. apple claimed it was dead due to water damage/sweat & wouldn’t help).
