Essential Healthy Holiday Ingredients

Raise your hand if you love Thanksgiving.

{My hand is raised high!}

That was easy.

Now, raise your hand if you get tired of seeing all the articles about overeating during the holidays.

{again my hand is raised}

While I can appreciate tips on how to avoid over eating and know there is a need for education around what foods are the healthiest, I also get tired of hearing the message.

So instead of focusing on the overeating let’s focus on some healthful holiday foods that you’ll most likely eat next week whether you’re being health conscious or not. Check out the list below from Integrative Nutrition and you can also discover 24 seasonal gluten-free recipes by clicking here.

    Great ideas! I am SO over hearing about overeating/holiday weight gain. Every year it becomes such a huge “thing” and it’s so annoying. Maybe if we talked about eating healthy and consciously all year long it would be less of a thing at the holidays!

    I just think it’s so silly to talk about “avoiding over eating on Thanksgiving.” The entire holiday revolves around a big meal. You’re going to eat a lot. That’s the point! Really, the key is to exercise moderation during holiday season. End rant. Anyway, love the idea of focusing on pumping up the healthy parts of the holiday!
